The Pigeon Delivery
Books preserve messages beyond time. The pigeon, once an ancient messenger, carries them forward. Together, they speak of ideas that continue to travel long after their origins.
PRIDE
Phallic orchids bloom from an empty vessel shaped like a muscular torso. The work examines how contemporary ideals of masculinity celebrate physical perfection while leaving little room for vulnerability, identity, and the values that exist beyond the body.
Dream Scape
A whimsical city of cactus architecture emerges from a woman's dream as she falls asleep over the book she is reading. The work explores the quiet space where stories dissolve into imagination.
Caged
A parrot is confined within a human-shaped cage, endlessly repeating words of doubt and fear. The work reflects the inner voice that echoes negativity, discouraging action before it begins.
The Rise of Fallen Angel
The Fallen Angel by Alexandre Cabanel has long been one of my favorite paintings. Its portrayal of sorrow, resentment, and wounded pride captures a powerful emotional moment.This work imagines what comes after. It is a tribute to the moment when the fallen angel lifts his gaze, meets the first light of sunrise, and realizes that he will be alright. Even after grief, there is always the possibility of a new beginning.
Wood Dragon
Created during the Year of the Wood Dragon, this work imagines how dragons might nurture the next generation. Instead of hatching from an egg, a young dragon begins as a seed, carefully planted in a pot and cultivated until it is ready to grow. Blending mythology with the familiar act of gardening, the work reimagines parenthood through the quiet ritual of care and patience.
The Green Carnation
Inspired by Oscar Wilde's green carnation, this work reflects his belief that nature should imitate art, rather than the reverse. By transforming a familiar flower into an unnatural shade of green, the carnation became a symbol of artifice, individuality, and quiet defiance. Over time, it also came to be recognized as an early emblem of queer identity, celebrating the beauty of existing beyond convention.
Vipassana
This work visualizes my experience with the Goenka tradition of Vipassana meditation. Through the practice, the body came to feel less like a fixed form and more like a field of constantly changing sensations—a composition of the four elements: earth, water, fire, and wind. Arising and dissolving moment by moment.
