I create freehand digital drawings inspired by my daydreams and imagination. Thoughts that were brewing within or remnants of sudden emotions may be reflected in daydreams, as well as observations from real life. I develop ideas and images that arise in my mind by expanding upon them with additional thoughts and imagination. Animals, fruits, flowers, and other creatures with a surrealistic approach are my main subjects of work. I focus working on Imaginary Animals, a collection illustrating surrealistic animals that I started since 2019.

Ribbed Heart Clam

“sorrow is the pearl of a heart” -The clam has ribcage shells and is shaped like a human heart with a round organ attached. Sorrow is the pearl made by the heart with pain and is held by the heart clam.

Finger Conch

“drag” - Finger conch moves as it drags its fingers; when the thumb takes a step to move forward, the other fingers grabbing the ground leave tracks on the sand.

Gemstone Salamander

“something really precious” - Although the salamander's body is covered in colorful gemstones, the little water drop is its most precious treasure.

Cheonsachorong Angler Fish

“cheongsachrong light under the deep sea” - The angler fish with cheonsachorong-like esca and colorful body seems to guide organisms to gather for celebration.

The Anatomy of Cheonsachorong Angler Fish

The anglerfish's cheonsachrong-like esca and vibrant coloration seem to guide creatures to a celebration rather than lure prey.

There is a light gland inside the cheonsachorong-like esca. The light gland is positioned slightly towards the bottom, lighting the cavity inside the esca. Luminescent bacteria that live inside the light gland are responsible for the light emitted.

Toadstool Pattern Fox

“snug and safe”-The fox eats small animals and poisonous mushrooms, and its coat resembles the color or pattern of the mushrooms it consumes the most.

Finned Orca

“confidence”- Confidence seems to come from how one sees oneself. Finned orca's tail resembles that of a goldfish, but the resilient and elastic tissue allows to thrust.

Ear Snail

“sounds that quietly flowed away” - Ear snails collect unheard voices and words —the sounds that were made but never heard. They are quiet creatures that appear with the sound of rain.

Ore Armadillo

“a shooting star in the night sky” - The armadillo has a body of ore and falls from the night sky like a shooting star.

Bird in the Abyss

The bird is in the abyss. The abyss is the deepest of places, where there are endless layers of water up and down. The bird is underwater, but also floating on water. The bird’s body is a composition of birds, plants, fish, and reptiles. The torso is shaped like the body of a fish and is mostly hollow. Three roots, branching from the vertebrae, penetrate the heart of the bird.
