LavaaGang is an independent character artist and creative studio based in Thailand, founded in 2021. Through hand-drawn digital illustrations, we create original characters that explore emotions, memories, and the quiet complexities of everyday life.

Originally emerging from the Web3 and NFT space, LavaaGang has evolved into a character-driven illustration project where storytelling takes center stage. Each artwork is an invitation to step into a small emotional universe, where vulnerability, imagination, and nostalgia coexist.

Our original character, BBpain, represents the inner child that continues to grow through joy, loneliness, curiosity, and hope. Rather than telling dramatic stories, BBpain reflects the subtle feelings that many people experience but rarely express.

Through simple forms, expressive colors, and gentle narratives, LavaaGang hopes to create illustrations that resonate across cultures and remind people that even quiet emotions deserve to be seen.

Lose The Heart

"Grief does not always begin with tears. Sometimes, it begins with emptiness."
The journey begins with absence. Lose The Heart captures the moment when something irreplaceable is suddenly taken away, leaving behind a void too vast for words.
The hollow center symbolizes the place where something precious once existed. Memories continue to circle the emptiness, unable to return to what has already been lost.
Sometimes losing someone does not feel like a broken heart.
Sometimes it feels as though the heart itself has disappeared.

Attack of Memory

"The mind remembers what the heart wishes it could forget."
As silence settles, memories begin to return.
Without warning, they appear through familiar sounds, forgotten places, and ordinary moments, arriving one after another until they become impossible to escape.
The dark figures surrounding BBpain embody memories that have taken on lives of their own.
Grief is no longer something we remember. It becomes something we carry.

Heavy Head

"Some memories fade. Others become the invisible weight we carry every day."
There are still fragments of hope within us—dreams we have not abandoned, people we still love, and moments we long to experience.
Yet they become difficult to see beneath the overwhelming weight of our own thoughts.
The cloud above BBpain represents every worry, every fear, every expectation, and every unfinished thought gathering into a burden too heavy to carry. For now, all we can do is remain with the chaos and quietly hope that one day, the sky inside our minds will become lighter again.

Can't Sleep

"Turning off the light is easy. Quieting the mind is not."
Night often amplifies the thoughts we manage to silence during the day.
Questions without answers.
Memories without endings.
Conversations that never happened.
BBpain lies awake beneath an endless sky of thoughts, searching for a silence that never seems to arrive. Sometimes insomnia is not the absence of sleep.
It is the presence of too much thinking.

Hard to Bring It Out

"Not every battle can be seen."
Some thoughts refuse to let go.
They remain quietly beside us through ordinary moments, following us from morning until night. There are seasons in life when simply taking the next step feels impossibly heavy.
Yet perhaps these difficult moments are not signs that we are falling behind.
Perhaps they are quiet reminders that we are growing. Because an easy life rarely asks us to change.

Heart Burning

"Some pain does not fade. It keeps burning until it transforms us."
The weight of loss becomes an endless fire. Not one that destroys everything at once, but one that quietly burns beneath everyday life, repeating itself in invisible cycles.
The burning heart symbolizes love that refuses to disappear. Pain exists because love existed first. Healing does not begin when the fire goes out.
It begins when we learn to live with its warmth.

Living with the Pain

"Pain does not always leave. Sometimes, it simply learns to walk beside us."
Time does not erase grief. Instead, it softens its edges.
BBpain begins to move forward while carrying pain as part of everyday life.
The sadness remains. It has simply become quieter.
Living again does not mean leaving grief behind.
It means making room for both joy and sadness to exist together.

Recovery Phase

"Healing is not the absence of grief. It is the courage to keep loving."
Recovery is often mistaken for forgetting. This chapter tells another story.
Healing is the quiet acceptance that love never truly disappears.
Although loss remains, it gradually becomes a source of strength rather than despair.
Those we lose never truly leave us. They continue to exist in every memory we choose to keep alive.

The Last Noise - Left

The Last Noise is a diptych that explores two different faces of farewell through the eyes of BBpain. Although both pieces speak about loss, they tell two very different stories. BBpain becomes the quiet witness to each goodbye, reminding us that we never get to choose how parting arrives. Sometimes it comes without warning, while other times we are fortunate enough to stand beside the people we love until their final breath.
Together, these two works reflect the uncertainty of loss—and the fragile beauty of being present while we still can.

Left — The Last Noise
The vivid red background represents the overwhelming shock of a heart that shatters without warning. Dark fragmented forms erupt from BBpain's head like memories breaking apart, while the turquoise rim light symbolizes lightning—a sudden flash that tears through silence without giving us time to prepare. This piece was born from a deeply personal memory. The last cry of someone I loved struck me like lightning. In that single moment, I knew it would be the final sound I would ever hear from them. Time seemed to stop. Everything around me disappeared, leaving only grief, silence, and the unbearable weight of knowing that goodbye had already arrived. This work speaks for the farewells we never have the chance to prepare for.

The Last Noise - Right

Right — The Last Noise
The second piece imagines another kind of goodbye.
Primary colors symbolize the fundamental cycle of life—simple, universal, and shared by everyone. Against the black background, they become a quiet reminder that loss is an inseparable part of being alive. If farewell is inevitable, perhaps the greatest gift is a peaceful one. Rather than fear or suffering, this work envisions a final moment filled with acceptance. A gentle departure. A life allowed to come to rest without pain.
The sadness remains, but it is softened by gratitude—for having had the chance to stay until the very end.

Artist's Reflection
None of us can choose how we will hear the last voice of someone we love. Some goodbyes arrive like lightning. Others fade gently into silence. What we can choose is how we listen while they are still here. The Last Noise is a quiet reminder to slow down, to be fully present, and to cherish the ordinary conversations that often feel insignificant in the moment. Because one day, every conversation becomes a memory.
Every voice becomes an echo. And none of us will ever know which one will be the last.
