| Hello, we are Tap Tabs, a Bangkok-based duo artist exploring the intersection of nature and surrealism. Our work explores surrealism through the relationship between nature, living things, and careful observation. We create imaginary creatures that blend the familiar with the unexpected, leaving room for curiosity, open interpretation, and imagination. We mainly focus on coloured pencil on paper, while also working across digital painting, graphic design, and mixed-media collage. Print remains an important part of our practice through art prints and zines, and we are also interested in exploring new materials and mediums, including sculpture, animation, and installation. |

The Reef-Ving Room
A surreal reimagining of a living room, where the intricate structures of coral reefs blend with interior design, blurring the lines between organic growth and man-made furniture.
Insectile Dining Room
Inspired by the elongated, delicate forms of insects, this dining set is reinterpreted as a vibrant, living organism, turning a communal space into an extension of nature.
The Sporework Cabinet
This piece depicts a cabinet of curiosities where fungal forms and traditional hand tools merge, inviting viewers to imagine a workspace curated by the whimsical nature of spores.
The Magnetic Field
Inspired by the overwhelming sensation of love, this piece portrays creatures exhibiting human-like behaviors of infatuation. Each animal expresses its devotion in unique, whimsical ways, reflecting the irresistible, natural pull of magnetic attraction.
Stare-Nuckle Coral
Surreal hybrids blending the delicate structure of coral with human fingers and eyes. Presents a vision where marine life and our own bodies merge in an unexpected way.
Capri Urchin Floret
Seamless fusions of African Daisies and sea urchins. By exploring the possibilities of these floral components, the piece creates a form so natural it makes viewers question if they are looking at two different species.
Nautilus Fern
New species born from the fusion of fern fronds and fossil spirals. By incorporating nautilus patterns, it documents prehistoric evidence within the pages of a modern botanical record.
Fig Beetle
A surreal fusion of a beetle and a common fig, inspired by the similarity in their shapes and forms. By combining these familiar elements, the piece imagines a new species and presents it through the visual language of a scientific illustration.
