My name is Peam Chitrakorn, I am a 17 year old conceptual and traditional artist from Nonthaburi. What I try to achieve with my paintings is to create an immersive world through visual story telling and achieve a feeling like slipping into a different world. I was always obsessed with stories and I inspire to create my own through illustrations.

"But I Should Know"

This painting is about my struggles with speaking Thai as a Thai person. The tree represents roots and traditions that I grew up in while in contrast the rope shows my frustration in trying to hold onto my origins. The rope fades like how i feel my connection with my own culture is fading. I experimented with acrylics and water with this piece pushing myself out of my comfort zone.

System Error

With this art piece I wanted to critique over consumption and use human body parts as a metaphor to represent the harmful industries that we are forced to be a part of. I represented the capitalistic machine with a skeleton getting a hold of the average consumer and slowly removing our humanity and morality.

Salvation

With this painting I wanted to tell the story of a girl who was punished exiled from her kingdom for her sins. She finds a statue in the forest which was of the goddess of prosperity and finds salvation in communication with her.

Internal Dialogue

This piece was commissioned by aspiring UK artist Kaya and it talks about his mental health issues. The figure coming out of the man's head is a coalescence of negativity and the darkness within one's mind.

On the Shoulder of the Dreamer

This painting represents the concept of cosmic indifference which is the idea that we are insignificant in the grand scheme of things and there might be something much more complicated that we cannot comprehend that exists out there. This idea is similar to H.P. Lovecraft's concept of Cosmic Horror but is more focused on human existentialism.

Cross Path, No Return

This watercolor piece asks the question: "What would it be like if only you could remember an event." The man depicted has gone mad with forbidden knowledge that no one else can seem to understand. The painting shows his decent into insanity and his memories that can be found nowhere else.

Comedy and Tragedy

This artwork uses the symbols of Comedy and Tragedy to represent inherent evil in human nature. Comedy and Tragedy is traditionally used as elements in stage plays but I wanted to explore it in not only on the stage but in all of our lives. The gold and silver leaves on each side of the piece represent duality within a human being with both mirth and woe.

Part I: The Champion

This is the first piece of a 3 part series which work in continuity. The series depicts 3 different rumors of a figure known as 'The Fallen.' In this version of the rumor The Fallen is a legendary brave warrior who wanted to defy the gods and kill a other worldly deity. He died doing so and is remembered as a urban myth.

Part II: The Ascended

This is the second piece of a 3 part series which work in continuity. The series depicts 3 different rumors of a figure known as 'The Fallen.' In this version of the rumor The Fallen is a god and ascended to be own alongside other worldly deities.

Part III: The Cultist

This is the third piece of a 3 part series which work in continuity. The series depicts 3 different rumors of a figure known as 'The Fallen.' In this version of the rumor The Fallen is a cultist who was obsessed with otherworldly deities. He would communicate with them and worship them to please the gods. He would even go on to create a whole religion to praise these beings and gain a following.
