| Kat Melo is a visual artist, designer, and illustrator based in Manila. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Communication from the University of the Philippines Diliman and began her career in graphic design, creating campaigns for the real estate industry. Today, she focuses on restaurant design, developing branding and spatial experiences. Her personal work often incorporates shapes, textures, and the small joys of everyday life, celebrating the overlooked and the mundane through simplicity, humor, and unassuming objects. Kat works with collage, torn paper, colored pencils, oil pastels, acrylic, and digital mediums. She constantly experiments with new materials, to refine her creative voice and push the boundaries of her image-making. |

My Keys
This work explores the idea of keys as a form of self-portrait. The keys we carry reflect our routines, the places we inhabit, and the people we trust.The keys shown here are not exact reproductions but altered images that preserve only the essence of the originals. Like a self-portrait, they are not intended as faithful copies but as interpretations, suggesting that distance from the original can sometimes reveal more than replication.
