| Nicolas Bernal, also known as Nicov Botelladearroz, is a Colombian puppeteer, visual artist, and design teacher based in Bangkok. His work combines puppetry, illustration, animation, and digital media to create narrative-driven worlds where physical and virtual storytelling intersect. The characters presented in this project originate from Rebirth, an experimental visual theatre project that Nicolas has been developing since 2025. Through puppet slams, exhibitions, and work-in-progress performances, the project has gradually evolved into a full-length production. Rebirth follows Cumbia, a character who transforms into different identities through a virtual reality helmet. Each transformation explores themes such as freedom, inner peace, wonder, and rebirth through symbolic characters, handcrafted puppets, and visual storytelling. |
