SHAN.MURE (杉木日) is an independent Malaysian artist whose work explores themes of self-discovery, freedom, inner peace, and the quiet emotions of everyday life. Through line drawings and oil pastel paintings, he captures subtle moments, personal reflections, and the beauty often overlooked in daily experiences. Each artwork serves as a dialogue with the inner self, inviting viewers to pause, reconnect with their emotions, and embrace the journey of becoming. His practice celebrates authenticity, introspection, and the enduring voice within us all.

A New Chapter

Shan Mu Re is someone who longs to return to nature.

He once believed that the wind, the shifting shadows of trees, and the light were where life truly belonged.

But somewhere along the way, he lost his direction.

He grew tired of the human world—
the repetition, the silent pressure, and the emptiness he could never quite put into words.

So, he chose to leave.

No map. No destination.

Just walking.

From the edge of the city, through steel and noise,
step by step, he made his way into the forest.

And when the last building faded from sight,
he realized—

his journey had only just begun.

Allowed to Fall

You are allowed to fall,
like light sinking into blue
quietly, without fear

Bound to Bloom

I wish I could return to my childhood self—
to draw like a child again, simply and freely, without overthinking or fear.

To create without expectation,
and to fully enjoy the process itself.

That kind of purity and ease feels distant now—
a quiet, irreplaceable kind of luxury I can no longer easily reach.

Growing Light

I do not know
if I am growing.

I do not know
if this path is right.

I only know
there is no road behind me.

The dark is deep.

I am alone.

I am fragile.

Yet something beyond fear
keeps calling me forward.

So I go.

Not because I am certain,
but because faith says,

NOW.

Maybe one day, I will go away like this

Maybe one day, I will go away like this

Fleeting Journey

The scenery may bloom in all it's glory,
yet it is only a fleeting page of my journey.
I will leave one day,
gifting the world its noise,
and taking only silence with me.

Endless Hope

The wait for light may feel endless, yet hope continues to hold its arrival.

Where I am?

Where am I? The body is grounded here, yet the soul resides in a profoundly peaceful realm.

Eternal Waiting

Even after 5000 years, I will still wait for you beneath this quiet tree.
