My name is Suthavee (Paul) Wangtechawat AKA Moody Dude. I’m an illustrator based in Bangkok, Thailand with a passion for character design and mental health illustrations. Even though my background is in Hotel Management and Counseling Psychology, drawing has always been an escape from the mundanity of life, and my imagination a place in which I can be free.
As a creative child, I’ve always found comfort and a passion in paintings and illustrations. I started drawing when I was in high school, using it as a tool to process and express my emotions.As a teenager, my skills were self-taught. Later on, they were developed further with online courses and lessons.
In 2020, I began pursuing drawing seriously as an artist while I was struggling with mental health. I founded Moody Dude studio with the intention of using art to inspire and make a difference. Since then, Moody Dude has expanded to include original character designs, art products and many unique concept illustrations.
Moody Dude Studio was named to reflect our state of mind that is not always positive. We all have bad days, but those bad days do not have to define us. My vision for Moody Dude Studio is not only to be a source of creative freedom, but also to help others who struggle with their mental health like me feel seen and appreciated.

This particular character is a duck inspired by the Thai drama Evil Lawyer. Although ducks are often associated with innocence and charm, this character represents a more deceptive and morally complex personality. The cracked eggshell beneath the duck quietly hints at the consequences left in its wake—a subtle reminder that beneath a gentle appearance can lie actions that leave lasting marks on others.

Lt. Somkieat AKA The Big Beaver

Meet Lieutenant Somkiet, a beaver reimagined as a police officer. With exaggerated proportions, I wanted him to look big, strong, and adorable at the same time. His calm expression gives him a sense of confidence and responsibility while keeping him approachable. A few bullet casings on the ground hint that he has just returned from an assignment, adding a subtle story to the illustration. The police car in the background helps establish the setting and reflects my interest in incorporating vehicle design into the overall character concept.

Mooping, cause i ain't chunky

Meet Mooping, a Rhino inspired by Thailand's growing running club culture. After finishing his morning run, he's ready to enjoy a well-earned bowl of noodles. However, there's one small problem—the noodle stall only has the iconic red plastic chairs that he's a little nervous about sitting on.
This lighthearted moment adds a playful twist to the character's story. With an exaggerated upper body and tiny legs, Mooping's proportions create a fun contrast that makes him feel expressive, approachable, and full of personality. Through this design, I explored dynamic shapes and body language to create a whimsical character.

Meet Pookie, an influencer elephant with a flair for fashion and a personality that shines. A true diva at heart, Pookie loves exploring new places and creating content for social media, always making sure every outing is picture-perfect.
In this design, Pookie wears traditional Thai attire paired with colorful sunglasses, blending cultural heritage with a bold, modern style. The playful contrast reflects Pookie's confident personality and love for self-expression. Through this character, I wanted to celebrate the fun of mixing tradition with contemporary fashion while creating a whimsical and memorable personality.

Meet P' Elvis, a dog who simply can't get enough of Elvis Presley. From his hairstyle to his stage presence, everything about him is inspired by the legendary performer. Most evenings, you'll find P' Elvis singing in small jazz bars around Bangkok, where he loves entertaining anyone who stops to listen.
For this character, I focused on creating a strong line of action to capture the energy of a live performance. The pose is designed to make P' Elvis feel as if he's inviting the audience to sing along, bringing his playful personality and love of music to life.

Meet Tee Noi, a grumpy rabbit inspired by the everyday life of Thai students. Dressed in the familiar white school shirt and bright blue trousers, Tee Noi carries plastic bag of coca-cola —a small detail that many people in Thailand will instantly recognize.
With a sneaky expression and a reluctant walk to school, Tee Noi captures a playful moment that reflects the mood of many students on an ordinary morning. Through this design, I focused on creating a strong line of action and expressive body language, allowing the character's personality to shine through in a fun and relatable way.

P' Matt, AKA The smiley assassin

Meet P' Matt, the Smiley Assassin. Inspired by the spirit of Muay Thai, P' Matt believes that every challenge is an opportunity to become stronger. No matter how tough the training gets, he always wears a smile and never backs down from a challenge.
Known for his unusual training methods, P' Matt practices with a heavy bag attached to his jaw, turning an everyday workout into something both funny and memorable. While the idea is exaggerated and playful, it reflects his determination to keep improving in his own unique way. Through his cheerful attitude and relentless dedication, P' Matt reminds us that growth doesn't always have to be serious—sometimes it comes with a smile and a little bit of humor.

Meet Nong Joey, an Asian panda who knows how to balance hard work with the simple joys of life. This character celebrates the idea of finding happiness in everyday moments. By combining music and food in one playful scene, Johnny reflects a warm and easygoing personality.
