Hi, I’m Parichart, the artist behind Studio B. My work is driven by two of my greatest passions: a love for cats and a fascination with the art of Free Motion Embroidery—a technique where I use a sewing machine like a paintbrush to 'draw' with thread.

I have combined these interests to tell stories through my 'Cat Portraits' series. Each piece features a cat wearing a unique cap, where the design on the hat serves as a canvas to tell a narrative. From iconic symbols to urban life, these caps turn my feline friends into storytellers. By using thread as my paint, I aim to bridge the gap between contemporary character design and traditional craftsmanship, keeping this manual, skill-intensive art form alive with every stitch.

Urban Cats: A Journey Through Thai Streets

Urban Cats is a collection that celebrates the charm of stray cats found wandering through the vibrant streets of Thailand. This series blends these familiar feline friends with iconic local elements—such as Tuk Tuk, road signs, Muay Thai shorts, and ‘Sawasdee’ graffiti art. By weaving these cultural symbols into their everyday lives, each character tells a unique story of urban life, bringing a touch of warmth, playfulness, and Thai soul to the concrete jungle.

Beyond the digital illustrations, this series features pieces created using Free Motion Embroidery a technique I am deeply passionate about. This art form is a beautiful synergy between human movement and the sewing machine, where the artist’s body and the machine work in unison to 'draw' with thread. By utilizing this manual, skill-intensive craft, I aim to preserve and celebrate the tradition of free-motion stitching. Despite the dwindling number of artisans practicing this unique craft today, I hope to keep its legacy alive through my work, infusing every stitch with the warmth of human touch.
