A visual diary of places, memories, and emotions. A Place Within is a series of digital illustrations inspired by landscapes, familiar places, and personal reflections.

A Place to Slow Down

A quiet landscape created as a reminder to pause and breathe. The rolling hills and misty atmosphere reflect the need for stillness in a fast-moving world. Xaisomboun Province (laos)

Hope

Inspired by the glow of a stupa emerging from darkness, this piece explores how hope often appears during uncertain times, offering light and direction when it is needed most. Luangprabang (Laos)

Some Things Bloom in Time

Inspired by seasonal golden flowers in Peemai Laos (Laos New Year), this work reflects the idea that growth and beauty cannot be rushed. Some things arrive only when the time is right. Vientiane (laos)

Quiet Wishes

A moment of watching a rocket rise into the sky becomes a metaphor for dreams, aspirations, and wishes quietly carried into the unknown. VangVieng (Laos)

Be You

A peaceful landscape beneath a rainbow celebrating individuality and self-acceptance. The work encourages viewers to embrace their authentic selves. Vientiane Province (Laos)

Hidden Space

A secluded riverside scene inspired by overlooked places that offer comfort, solitude, and moments of reflection away from the noise of daily life. Champasak Province (Laos)

A Messy World, A Quiet Mind

Inspired by the electric pole “super star” in Vientiane, this piece contrasts external disorder with inner calm, suggesting that peace can still exist amid complexity.

Some Things Are Already Enough

Inspired by the historical architecture of Watch Champasak and the soft light of dusk, this work reflects a sense of gratitude for the beauty found in everyday moments. It is a reminder that fulfillment is often discovered not in what we seek, but in what already surrounds us. Champasak Province (Laos)

Refined in Silence

A solitary figure facing a vast cloudscape symbolizes personal growth that happens quietly, away from attention and recognition. Vientiane Province (Laos)

Space

A reflection on the importance of giving ourselves room to breathe, think, and simply exist. The oversized tree becomes a symbol of protection, rest, and presence. Vientiane Province (Laos)
