"What if animals lived in this town?"

Tarami is a Japanese digital illustrator currently based in Bangkok, Thailand.

Inspired by the cultures, cityscapes, and travel experiences of Japan and Thailand, he creates illustrated worlds inhabited by animals.

Some of these worlds are inspired by real places, while others exist only in imagination. Gathering at hot springs, running little shops, celebrating local festivals through the everyday lives of animals, his illustrations bring to life the stories, culture, and atmosphere that make each place unique.

In addition to his personal work, he has created commercial illustrations for map projects, packaging design, and other visual communication materials.

nicon world

"What if animals lived in this town?" — the starting point of Tarami's illustrated world. Balloons, cars, cobblestone streets. A place where animal life goes on quietly, just out of sight.

a day in the summer -morning-

A two-part series depicting a summer day from the same veranda — morning and night. The quality of light, the temperature of the air, the posture of the cats. Time passing through a single place.

a day in the summer -evening-

The same veranda, the same view — but night has arrived, and fireworks bloom in the distance. By sharing a composition, the two works create a contrast of time and feeling.

amusement park -coffee cup ride-

A ferris wheel, a coffee cup ride, a glittering city skyline. The excitement of somewhere out of the ordinary, and the joy of sharing it with someone. Festive energy captured through animal characters and vivid color.

harbor dairy -dawn-

A husky before a lighthouse at the edge of dawn. No one else around. Not loneliness, but the quiet sense of owning a moment entirely to yourself.

Happy New Year 2026

A horse waiting for the first sunrise of the new year in the snow. Not celebration, but the quiet anticipation that lives at the start of something new.

onsen travel -Tarami onsen-

A travel poster for a hot spring town that doesn't exist. Animals gather at dusk, steam rises, lanterns glow. An illustration that carries the warmth of place and culture, like a journey through memory.

snow resort -course guide-

A course guide that functions as a map while carrying Tarami's illustrated world within it. Animal characters and slope information coexist naturally — illustration and utility as one.

Songkran in Bangkok 2026 -Khao San Road-

Songkran — Thailand's greatest water festival. The chaos of Khao San Road, splashing water, street stalls, and the heat of celebration. The color and energy of a festival, told through the world of animals.

a day in Lumphini -map-

An illustrated map of Lumphini Park, told through the eyes of its most iconic residents — the monitor lizards. Morning runs, fresh juice stalls, shady rest spots. The charm of Bangkok's beloved park, brought to life through character and map.
