YAMADA*'s works are told through Seefah, a small teru teru bōzu (Japanese rain doll), and the fish that quietly appear throughout many of the paintings.

I chose these subjects because they carry almost no fixed facial expressions or obvious emotions. They are neither smiling nor crying, allowing space for each viewer to interpret the work through their own memories, experiences, and feelings. To me, Seefah is a reflection of everyone.

She may be lonely.
She may be hopeful.
She may be thinking of someone.
Or perhaps she is simply on her way to somewhere new.

Everyone can find a different part of themselves in Seefah.

Rather than telling the story of a single character, each painting creates an atmosphere, a place, and a moment for the viewer to step into. They invite people to bring their own memories, emotions, and experiences to complete the story.

Because in the end, what matters is not how Seefah feels
but how you feel when you meet her.

Spacial Collection : 01.Please be kind to your childhood

Please embrace the memories with sincerity.
Accept yourself when you were weak.
And accept that child, saying,
”You did your best.
Nothing went wrong.
And there‘s no need to rush to grow up.“

ยอมรับตัวเองในวันที่ยังอ่อนแอ
และบอกกับเด็กคนนั้นว่า
“เธอทำดีที่สุดแล้ว
ไม่มีอะไรผิดพลาด
และไม่จำเป็นต้องรีบเติบโตก็ได้“

Spacial Collection : 02.Soft Memories

Even when images grow blurred,
colors fade,
and shapes lose their clarity,
those memories always leave their feelings behind with us.

And it is those feelings
that quietly shape who we are in the present,
reminding us of who we have become.

แม้ภาพจะพร่า สีจะจาง รูปร่างจะไม่ชัด แต่ ความทรงจำเหล่านั้น ทิ้งความรู้สึกที่เคยเกิดขึ้นไว้ให้กับเราอยู่เสมอ
และความรู้สึกเหล่านั้น เป็นสิ่งที่หล่อหลอมตัวตนของเรา ให้รู้ว่าเราเป็นใคร

i’m learning to stay

Sometimes, growth does not always mean moving forward.

It can also mean learning to pause
to remain in this moment,
to stay with yourself,
and to accept that where you are now still holds value.

Sometimes, staying can be just as difficult as leaving.

บางครั้ง การเติบโตไม่ใช่การวิ่งไปข้างหน้าเสมอไป แต่คือการเรียนรู้ที่จะหยุด อยู่กับช่วงเวลานี้ อยู่กับตัวเอง และยอมรับว่าที่ตรงนี้ก็มีคุณค่า การ "อยู่" อาจยากพอ ๆ กับการ "ไป"

Some things become heavier
the more tightly we try to hold on to them.

When we finally let go,
perhaps we are not truly losing them.

Perhaps we are simply making space
for the wind, our dreams, and tomorrow
to carry us somewhere farther than before.

มีบางสิ่งที่ยิ่งพยายามคว้าไว้ ก็ยิ่งหนักขึ้น เมื่อปล่อยมือ เราอาจไม่ได้สูญเสียมันไป แต่กำลังเปิดพื้นที่ ให้ลม ความฝัน และวันพรุ่งนี้ พาเราไปไกลกว่าเดิม

Fishbone

Sometimes it’s not that we don’t want to speak,
we just can’t. Like a fish caught in the throat,
our feelings stay silent, yet never disappear beneath the surface.

สิ่งที่เราอยากพูดมากที่สุด กลับเป็นสิ่งที่พูดยากที่สุด ความรู้สึกนั้นเหมือนปลาที่แหวกว่ายอยู่ในลำคอ แม้คำพูดจะติดอยู่ตรงนั้น แต่อารมณ์กลับไหลเวียนอยู่ภายในเงียบ ๆ และ ในความเงียบ ยังมีเสียงของความรู้สึกที่ไม่เคยหายไป

ตราบใดที่ยังมองเห็นมันอยู่บนท้องฟ้า ก็ยังมีเหตุผลให้ก้าวเดินต่อไป

I saw my little rocket

Today, I looked up at the sky
and saw a tiny trail of light passing by.

It felt like I was watching someone else’s dream
traveling through the same world as mine.

Even though I don’t know who it belongs to,
just seeing it pass by
made me feel like dreams still exist in this world.

วันที่ฉันมองขึ้นไปบนท้องฟ้า
แล้วเห็นเส้นแสงเล็ก ๆ พุ่งผ่านไปไกล

มันเหมือนฉันได้เห็นความฝันของใครบางคน
กำลังออกเดินทางอยู่บนโลกใบเดียวกัน

แม้ไม่รู้ว่าเป็นของใคร
แต่แค่ได้เห็นมันลอยผ่าน
ก็ทำให้ฉันรู้สึกว่า
ความฝันยังมีอยู่จริงบนโลกใบนี้

Quietly Connected

Even though they seem still and emotionless,
their silence quietly connects them.

แม้ทุกสิ่งจะดูนิ่งและไร้อารมณ์
แต่เมื่อยืนอยู่ด้วยกัน ความเงียบกลับเชื่อมโยงพวกเขาเข้าหากัน

Do not hang me

I wants to see the sea,
wander through cities,
feel the sun and the wind,
and collect memories with you.

A shirt only becomes complete when someone takes it on a journey.

Don't leave me hanging.
Take me with you.

Fish and Blue

This fabric is a record of a journey, gathering fish from different memories, places, and moments.

Each one moves in its own rhythm and direction, forming a map without a fixed path.

Seefah stands among them as a reflection of every traveller, while the fabric continues its journey with whoever carries it.

ผ้าผืนนี้คือบันทึกการเดินทางที่รวบรวมปลาแต่ละตัวจากความทรงจำ สถานที่ และช่วงเวลาต่าง ๆ

ปลาแต่ละตัวมีจังหวะและทิศทางของตัวเอง เมื่อมาอยู่ร่วมกัน จึงกลายเป็นแผนที่ของการเดินทางที่ไม่มีเส้นทางตายตัว

สีฟ้าที่อยู่ท่ามกลางฝูงปลาเป็นตัวแทนของผู้เดินทางทุกคน และผ้าผืนนี้ก็พร้อมเดินทางต่อไปกับผู้ที่เลือกพกมันไปด้วย
