Kanya Kim Studio is a Thai art and illustration brand led by artist Kanya Kim (Kanyapak Laohasrisakul), known for her storytelling through cultural heritage. Her work blends traditional Thai elements with a modern, imaginative style—reinterpreting local myths, symbols, and spiritual beliefs in ways that feel fresh and meaningful.

Founded in 2023, the studio began as a personal journey to reconnect with roots and share untold stories through art.

Inspired by her grandfather, Kanya draws from history, folklore, and rituals to create artwork that bridges the past and present. Her illustrations often explore themes like identity, memory, and nature, connecting audiences emotionally to Southeast Asian culture.

Secret Garden

Inspired by the mystical Himmapan Forest and interpretations of paradise found in different civilizations, the work brings together mythical creatures, flourishing botanicals, and sacred symbols from diverse beliefs into a single harmonious landscape. Here, Eastern and Western mythologies coexist without hierarchy, celebrating the beauty of shared imagination rather than difference. Through this piece, I explore the idea that paradise does not belong to any one culture or tradition. Instead, perhaps the truest paradise is a place where stories, beliefs, and identities from across the world can flourish together—without borders, without prejudice, and in harmony with one another.

Miss Songkran

This artwork is inspired by the European Chinoiserie tradition, which reflects the fascination of people from one side of the world with the cultures of another. Through imagination, distant lands, myths, and traditions became intertwined, creating dreamlike visions that transcended geographical boundaries.

The Last Unicorn

Inspired by The Unicorn in Captivity, this work reimagines the mythical unicorn through a dialogue between European folklore and Thai cosmology. The legendary creature of the West is interwoven with the sacred beings of the Himmapan Forest, a mythical realm deeply rooted in Thai beliefs and artistic traditions. Through this cultural fusion, the artwork explores shared human fascinations with wonder, spirituality, and the enduring presence of mythical creatures across civilizations.

Anantara Siam's Tale

Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel collaborated with Thai artist and illustrator Kanyapak Laohasrisakul (Kanya Kim Studio), whose work blends Thai cultural heritage with contemporary art, to create a limited-edition LINE sticker collection titled Anantara Siam's Tale.
Launched as part of the hotel's special year-end charitable campaign, the collection was inspired by Anantara Siam Bangkok's most significant renovation in over four decades. The stickers celebrate the hotel's distinctive identity and iconic landmarks, drawing inspiration from the grand staircase mural by renowned Thai artist Thawan Duchanee.

Kaew Na Ma

Inspired by the Thai folktale Kaew Na Ma, this work reinterprets the story as a symbol of self-discovery, the courage to embrace one’s true self, and the inner strength to overcome every obstacle.

The Kiss

Inspired by the masterpiece The Kiss, this work reimagines a love story between a Thai celestial being and a mortal, symbolizing a love that transcends the boundaries of realms, differences, and destiny. Their embrace is more than a kiss—it is a moment where the heavenly and earthly worlds become intertwined, revealing love as a universal language that exists beyond time.

The Sun & The Moon

Inspired by the deities of the Sun and the Moon, this work reimagines the cosmology of Traiphum Phra Ruang as a fairytale, blending Thai spiritual heritage with a dreamlike narrative.
