Wolbok is an artist who explores the theme of rest through both hand-drawn paintings and digital work, creating slow, contemplative illustrations that follow the rhythm of emotion.
Her primary medium is conte, often using point colors set against black to evoke depth and contrast.

Her world unfolds in a symbolic space known as the “Black Garden.”
This quiet sanctuary is a place for those weary of reality to pause, reflect, and reconnect with their inner selves.

Four main characters reside in this garden:
Wolbok, the gentle gardener who tends life with grace;
Kkamang-i, the black cat who offers silent comfort;
Hayang-i, the small white rabbit who stirs childhood wonder;
and a nameless bird that soars freely, symbolizing liberation.

Each represents comfort, innocence, and freedom, delivering subtle inspiration and solace to the viewer.
Wolbok’s work is not merely visual — it is the act of planting a quiet garden within the heart.

Dream.Ideal

The red star behind the leaf represents a dream, while the distant moon above evokes an ideal.
Pure dreams from childhood still quietly glow within us, even if hidden.
This piece is a poetic homage to innocence — painting dreams and ideals as one quiet landscape.

Childhood Dream

The small rabbit, a symbol of innocence, reaches toward a distant star — chasing a dream.
Though its gaze is fixed upward, the brightest stars quietly shine behind the vase, unseen but present.
This piece evokes the vague yet vivid feelings of childhood — the precious dreams we once held, even if they were hidden from view.

A Strange Journey

Life is like a towering plant — unpredictable in form and direction.
The birds in this piece drift quietly around it, as if on a journey without a map.
A Strange Journey offers a poetic reflection on the way we live: traveling not always with a destination, but with meaning in each step.

Flight

A single bird takes flight, carrying a garden within its wings.
Inside, it holds the quiet dreams and wishes of others.
Flight is a gentle metaphor for how we all carry pieces of one another’s hopes as we move through the sky of life.

Low Flight

On overcast days, swallows fly low, following insects that hover near the ground in high humidity.
The bird in this piece mirrors us — rising early, chasing dreams and freedom with quiet persistence.
Low Flight is an homage to those who soar close to the earth, unwavering in their pursuit of life’s hopes.

The Garden Cat

A large black cat quietly stands guard.
Its body blooms with leaves and flowers — symbols of cherished dreams — and its presence offers a calm and watchful protection.
The Garden Cat represents a silent guardian, keeping our hopes and tender hearts safe from harm.

Not Lost

A black cat rests quietly in the forest.
Some may think it’s lost.
Others may see loneliness.
But in truth — it is simply taking a break.

Not Lost reminds us not to judge others by our own pace,
but to honor the quiet, unspoken rhythms of rest and being.

Thistle

The thistle, clad in thorns, protects itself from harm.
But beneath its prickly surface lies a healing strength.

This piece invites us to look beyond appearances—
to see that what may seem harsh or distant
can hold gentleness within.

The black cat, nestled among the spines,
reminds us to meet difference not with judgment,
but with quiet understanding.
