I'm Araya, a self-taught illustrator and artist from Japan. I create simple, funny, and cute characters inspired by the world around me. My work is often playful and positive, and I strive to create art that brings joy to others.

I have my first solo exhibition at “Rusty and Friends” in Thailand from September 2 to 16, 2023. I'm excited about the opportunity to showcase my work at the Bangkok Illustration Fair and meet other illustrators.

ARAYA "AS IT IS" POSTER

This is an illustration I made for the poster of my first solo exhibition in Thailand.

9 PAINTINGS

With a playful nod to the work of a renowned pop art artist, I created a series of original characters that parody the everyday.

HAPPY

This is a picture that expresses the feeling of happiness and joy.
I drew the clouds as hearts, and I drew the feeling of feeling happy from the bottom of my heart.

STRATEGY MEETING

I drew a picture of my original characters. The star in the middle of the characters is the goal. I drew a picture of the characters having a strategy meeting to achieve that goal.

LIFE JOURNEY

I expressed that life is something to drive with joy.

SUPPORT

I drew the people who support me as hearts and stars, and the rabbit is myself.

MY ANGEL

I drew my daughter in this picture. It is a picture that I drew with love.

WISDOM AND THE PATH

I drew, imagining that the clouds are wisdom and the path beyond the door is life.

WORRY

When I fail or don't succeed, I wonder why I'm such a fool. I drew a picture of myself at that time. The words "馬鹿" (BAKA : fool) in the smoke are words that often come to my mind when I fail.

I WILL FULFILL MY WORDS

A rabbit is myself, and stars are my dreams.
I expressed my determination in this picture.
